Shafeef Omar is a research fellow with the Dynamic Legged Systems Group at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. Previously, he was a Research Associate at the Indian Institute of Science, working on Continual Learning at the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Laboratory. He graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) with a Dual Degree, Bachelor's and Master's degree, in Engineering Design. His research interests involve dissecting the foundations of neural networks and reinforcement learning to apply them in robotics for control and planning over longer horizons. He is passionate about interdisciplinary research at the intersection of AI, computer vision and robotics to develop intelligent robots.
