Mohamed Emara is an electronic engineer in the advanced robotics department at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Genoa, working in the dynamic legged systems lab. He received the degree of B. S. with First Class Honours in Electrical Communication and Electronics Engineering from University of Greenwich, London, UK, in 2009. In May 2018, he earned his PhD title in technologies for optogenetic neural stimulation and wireless behavioural control in transgenic mice from Universtà del Salento, Lecce, under the supervision of Massimo de Vittorio and Ferruccio Pisanello. His PhD research was focusing on developing bench-top and wireless miniaturised optoelectronics solutions for optogenetic light delivery into brain tissues. Mohamed is interested in electronics, embedded systems, PLC automation system, programming, semiconductor laser diodes, optical fibres, product design and development, Project management, and principles of marketing.
