As a Researcher in Advanced Robotics (ADVR), I lead the VICARIOS Mixed Reality and Simulations research lab, exploring MR concepts for immersive telerobotics, training, and digital twin technologies. The investigation covers a wide range of research fields including virtual / augmented reality, tele-manipulation, deep learning, semantic scene understanding, haptics, 3D perception, reinforcement learning, predictive biomechanical simulations, etc.

I currently lead the "Robot Teleoperativo 2" funded project on advanced collaborative telerobotics systems for operating in hazard-prone industries.

I co-lead the "Caduta dall'Alto" (Falling from Heights) funded project on novel safety and immersive training systems for workers working at heights.

Previously, I was a postdoc in the Biomedical Robotics Lab with Dr. Leonardo Mattos, working on telesurgery, surgeon-robot interfaces, and holistic telesurgical skills assessment.
