I hold a Degree in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry. After my PostDoc period at the Center for Advanced Biotechnology at the University of Genova and at the National Cancer Institute, I joined IIT in 2010. Over my entire career, I focused my activity on bioanalytical chemistry and "omics" research, acquiring an extensive experience in the metabolomics, lipidomics and proteomics fields. I am currently PI in WP4, Core 3 of the EU Graphene Flagship Project Horizon 2020 (Grant agreement no. 696656), dedicated to the metabolomics and proteomics of graphene interactions with biological systems. I am also currently PI in project FFC#1-2021 from the Italian Cystic Fibrosis society, dedicated to the use of proteomics to identify new potential pharmacological targets. I am also the Coordinator of the Italian COVID-19 Mass Spec Coalition and President of the Italian Mass Spectrometry Society (IMaSS).
