Lorenzo is a Prototype Technician at IIT's InBot (Industrial Robotics Facility), where he contributes to several EU- and ASI-funded robotics projects. He is currently involved in RENÉE, MASTERLY and RIAP — developing smart robotic solutions for circular value chains, flexible handling and assembly operations, and autonomous inspection of pressure equipment, respectively. Within these projects, Lorenzo focuses on the design, prototyping and manufacturing of mechanical components, combining 3D printing and traditional CNC machining with hands-on assembly, integration and testing of robotic prototypes.

He also contributes to ROSAIA, a project funded by the Italian Space Agency developing a compliant parallel-continuum robotic arm for space-debris removal and on-orbit servicing, where he leads the design of the arm's segmented vertebra structure and directs prototype assembly; and to ULS in collaboration with PoliTo and Thales Alenia Space, a multi-purpose lunar rover project, where he works on the structural design of the leg active suspension system.

Prior to joining IIT, Lorenzo gained hands-on manufacturing experience as a CNC machine operator and as a CAD modeler at several companies working in the automotive and aeronautics field, focusing on parametric modelling, assembly verification and production drawings.

Between 2017 and 2022 Lorenzo studied Mechanics, Mechatronics and Energy at I.I.S. Amedeo Avogadro in Torino, before completing an Advanced Technical Diploma between 2023 and 2025 in Integration and Testing of Space Systems at ITS Academy Foundation Piemonte, graduating with full marks with a thesis on robotic design for space applications.
